1. Are men allowed to participate in the event?
This is a women’s only race and the perfect chance for all of you men to come out and support the women in your lives and show them how much you love them and their running!
Men, you are strongly encourage to attend the event and show your wife, girlfriend, sister, mother, daughters and friends how much you support them by volunteering to help them complete this challenge! Check out our volunteer page and sign up to help out on race day!
2. What do I get for my entry fee?
In addition to a great race, all participants will receive a technical T-shirt, a logo’d wine glass and access to the post-race celebration featuring wine tastings, raffles, and food and drink for purchase from some great vendors! All participants will also receive a custom wine bottle topper finisher’s medal!
3. How can I sign up for the event?
You can register online at www.socalwinecountryhalf.com. We do not accept mailed in applications.
4. Is there an age limit for the race?
This race is open for participants of all ages, young and old. For youth under 15 we may require some additional information about athletic background.
5. Do you have to run the entire race or can you walk?
Run, walk, hop, skip or jump; as long as you cross that finish line under your own power within the 4 hour time limit, we welcome all modes of forward progress!

7. Will I receive a refund if I cannot attend?
There are absolutely no refunds, no exceptions.
8. Are baby joggers or strollers allowed during the race?
Due to the terrain and runner safety we can not allow strollers during the event.
9. Are pets allowed during the race?
To ensure the safety of all runners, pets are not allowed on the race course.
10. Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?
The use of headphones is discouraged but allowed. If you do run with headphones, it is requested that you keep one ear free to be able to hear safety vehicles, fellow participants and course officials.
11. Can I transfer my registration to another runner or defer to next year?
No. There is a strict a no transfer and no defer policy.
While this may seem harmless to the parties perpetrating the unauthorized bib transfer, it does convey serious consequences to the organizers and participant field alike. From race results to finishers’ awards being impacted as well as medical staff being able to correctly identify participants in need of treatment, it is imperative that the registration data associated with your race number does in fact belong to you, the participant.
Packet Pick Up:
12. How will I receive my race packet?
Race packets can be picked up in person at Laces Running Company for the entire week before the race
Packets will also be available the day before the event at Vail Lake Resort. There will be no parking fee for packet pickup.
You MUST show your photo ID to pick up your packet. If you can not pick up your packet at Laces Running Company your race packet will be available on race morning from 6 – 6:45. If you do not check in by 6:45 you will not be able to start the event. Please be early!

13. Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
You may have a family member or friend pick up your packet but they must have a copy of your photo ID.
14. Can I register on race day?
The race will sell out early so race day registrations will not be available.

15. Will there be water stops?
Yes, there will be water stops along the course. Please see the Course Info page for full details.
16. Will there be a sports drink or energy gels on the course?
Water, energy drink and energy gels will be available at aid stations on the course. Please see the Course Info page for full details.
17. What are the event start times?
The half marathon will start at 7AM and the 5K will begin at 8AM.
18. Is there a bag check available?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a bag check for this event. However, parking is close to the start/finish so you will be able to get your post-run gear from your car easily.
19. Is there a time limit?
Yes, there is a 4 hour cutoff for the race. Participants not completing the course before the 11 AM cutoff will not be eligible for finisher’s awards.
20. Will there be photographers on the course?
Yes. Shez Photography will be on the course taking pictures that you can purchase online.
21. Will there be an awards ceremony?
Yes, there will be awards ceremony held in conjunction with the post-race celebration. Prizes will be awarded to the top-3 overall finishers, as well as the winners of the following age groups:
- 19 & Under
- 20 – 29
- 30 – 39
- 40 – 49
- 50 & Above
Yes, the race will be electronically timed and results will be available at the post-race party. Official times will be posted at http://socalwinecountryhalf.com/event-info/results/ within 2 days of the event.
