2014 Weather and Hydration – Please Read

We’re only a few days away, are you ready?!?!

I wanted to send out a last minute reminder with some information about the weather and some notes on nutrition and hydration.

If you haven’t checked yet, you can see the weather forecast here: http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/hdfForecast?query=92592

It’s going to be a warm one and it doesn’t look like we’re going to have any cloud cover. Be sure to hydrate well in the days before the race and stay topped off on your electrolytes.

If you are running the half, or even the 5K, PLEASE carry some type of hydration with you. Whether it’s a hand bottle, belt or hydration pack you will enjoy your race much more if you have it with you!

The full Aid Stations will have water, Fluid Electrolyte drink and Island Boost Energy gel.

The Island Boost WILL NOT be served in gel packets. It will be dispensed from a pump jug and will be served in small 3 oz cups. You will be able to take the Island Boost like a shot at each aid station. This will help prevent littering the course with gel wrappers.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday for what will be a great day!
